How Conscious Are Your Choices? #decisionmaking

Everyday, we make the small choices in life that get us to work, buy us lunch, urge us to take an umbrella, and choose what channel to watch on television. But, are we making these decisions without our intuition? Are we instinctively moving along in life, like an animal would toward food and female dogs in heat? Learning to live from spiritual intuition is an important step in becoming a “Choice-Driven Person” or a “Chance-Driven Person.”

With Chance-Driven decisions, we take our creative energy and suspend it completely, letting life move us like the wind tossing a piece of paper on our lawn. But, with Choice-Driven decisions, we allow our conscious, creative mind to take part in where and what direction we move in our lives, which allows us to be led—instead of pushed.

As we evolve consciously, we develop spiritual intuition, which, hopefully, will replace our need for our baser reactive side—the animalistic instinct. Every person, just like every animal on earth, has a propensity to move through life with instinct. This helps animal stay far enough from the edge of a cliff, not eat poisonous food, stay away from dark, shadowy alleyways, and take shelter during a storm. These instinctual mechanics are in each of us, like software loaded into a computer’s mainframe. They help us out to stay alive, but are these instincts enough to move forward into a spiritual life?

At this age of our spiritual growth, if we haven’t learned the difference between our instinct and our intuition, which is a Spiritual urging toward something higher and a more distinctive class of learning, we may end up being tossed about by our instinct, instead of our intuition.

As we talked about yesterday, sometimes Spirit calls us to take the higher road, instead of the easier road. So, we sit at the beginning of our own yellow brick road and wait with indecision and ambiguity for a good witch to appear out of the sky to lead us on the right road. However, remember that: “no decision is a decision to not make a decision.” So, we must dig deeper into our souls and take a leap of faith to move toward the direction spirit leads our hearts.

I have to tell you, from my own choices recently, I have taken the leap into a space that is completely propelled by a spiritual search. Each day, though I have had to face some rejection along the way, I have learned that even the rejections are not instinctual. They are steps toward making the right and best choices for spiritual purpose. Someone who has never made a mistake has not moved an inch in life. Mistakes are medals of honor for each person willing to make the harder choices in life and learn from their mistakes.

Take a chance today, and live from your spiritual intuition!

The Tough #Decisions in Life

No one is completely resistant to a paralyzing decision. Some of the most frequently asked questions in Life Coaching sessions are about the many choices in life! I often ask, “How do you feel inside about the decision you made or are about to make?” Most people say, “I am too frighten to act on it, yet. That’s why I need your help.”

As a coach, my primary goal is to take away the blocks to what keeps you from your most authentic feelings and desires. Often, what paralyzes us most is an attachment problem from our past. Case and point: A client had a narcissistic parent, who made fun of every dependent life decision he made. Even something as beautiful as my client’s news of his wife’s pregnancy was fodder for his mother’s criticism.

If you grow up in a situation where you had no one to tell you that your decisions were right and just, often, you end up feeling—even as an adult—that you are not good enough or smart enough to make the correct decision. Your mind will flood with all the ways you can keep yourself in the indecision, so you won’t ever have to be wrong. However, who really gets to stay in a place of ambivalence for the rest of his or her life? No one! So, a choice is impending.

So, making that critical choice to finish something and put a period at the end of an incomplete sentence is so important in everyone’s life, for you own self-esteem and to simply move on from the small stuff to your larger choices in life.

Recently, I made a huge decision to move from my home, my business, and my friends to live nearer to my family in Southern Florida. The move came on the heals of a life-altering moment, when my partner chose to leave our relationship because he wasn’t sure—from lack of relationship experience—that I was the right man for him. The day he left, in my sorrow, something opened up inside of my mind to effective and lasting change. A feeling that had never been there before rose to the surface—a choice, a new choice.

I’m not one to run away from my pain. I sat in my sorrow and felt every moment, like a warrior, crying for about a week, until every tear had been shed, felt, and understood. When I arose from my malaise, like the Phoenix, I had realized that my heart had outgrown my current life. What I needed was to move on to my Encore Career and actualize the dreams I had been waiting so long to step toward.

My decision was difficult, but I had no better rudder than to make a strong choice and begin to walk toward it. Most often, if your decision is from a spiritual center, doors will open, and you will begin to settle into a deeply seated peace that no one can shake, and no temporary hiccup can change. The decision you made is not for you, Spirit will be clear in keeping you from moving forward. I know this sounds a little airy-fairy, but honestly, our lives sometimes are continent upon giving up our own misconceptions to embrace Spirit’s deeper goals.

I now sit in an observer space in my mind, watching my life unfold as I have not seen it manifest in so many years. Everything is new. My life feels effortless. The love around has expressed infinitely. Even work has come to me easily. I know that I know I have made the right choice, because I am in it fully immersed.

A Wall of Derision #spiritualgrowth #Centersofspiritualliving

I have met a great deal of new people already in my first week in Florida. I notice, most often, that each biographical story usually carries with it some sort of derisive past that has moved each person away from the contention of judgment to Southern Florida, a place where life is more open and belief is a choice—not a recommendation. So many people have been pushed away from spiritual belief because of judgment, sin consciousness, and a strong sense of self-righteousness. This disenfranchisement hurts my heart. In so many ways, I feel as if I’ve been led to Florida to find some of these individuals and tell them that their own path to truth is perfect and real!

I met a man last evening who told me he was Agnostic, which is the third person this week. But, after talking to him about what inspires him, he seemed very spiritually open. I told him about The Centers of Spiritual Living and how they teach people “how to believe” not “what to believe.” His eyes immediately lit up. I don’t know that he’ll try church again, and it certainly doesn’t matter to me. However, just knowing that bodies of people exist that don’t judge and will embrace you, no matter where you are on your path is such a blessing to these individuals.

I know that many people reading this blog are on different places in their spiritual path. Some are Christian, some Buddhist, some Agnostic, some New Thought, and some just haven’t figured it out yet. I want you to know that your personal walk is no one’s business but your own. Even Jesus, the master teacher, said never to “cast your pearls before swine,” as they will be trampled on and destroyed.

Your pearls in this metaphor are your deep-seated beliefs. They are to be protected with all of your being, especially during the times when they are gestating and developing. Your beliefs are like a caterpillar spinning a web to form a cocoon. In this silent place of love and spiritual guidance, directly from God, your thoughts and beliefs begin to congeal and transform. Eventually, what you believe will help you fly above judgment and derisive actions.

Trust me on this: When you figure out who you are, your place on this planet, and are open to Spirit’s guidance every day; you become like a constantly changing, expanding universe of thought and truth. You will be like a crystal in chaos!

Keep searching and never stop!

The book on your right is a channeled book that came to me in a dream. An angel appeared to me and said, sit at your computer and write this book. I simply listened and wrote. Even when I reread this book, I get new insights into meditation and being open spiritual direction. I hope you enjoy it.
