The question I am asked most often as a spiritual counselor and life coach is:
Can someone who doesn’t normally have any spiritual gifts, actually develop them? Will I ever be able to hear from God or Spirit?
My answer is: How committed to the process are you?
I wish I could be more definite in my findings. However, in all the years that I have been teaching and coaching, I have found that most people who are sincere and have an authentic desire to find a connection to Spirit God, actually do find what they look for. They may not find it exactly how they thought they would. But, I promise you, if they have been seeking to find answers, they will gain insight. If they practiced silence in meditation or in yoga or in long walks in the woods, they have heard from Spirit in a way that is perfect for them.
There is no one particular way that Spirit speaks to us. Personally, I get very clear images, insights, and intuition. I often hear a voice that specifically tells me things. I am compelled at times to do specific actions or talk to certain people with such specificity that the clarity with which I receive is hard to deny that it is not an elevated knowledge trying to communicate. What you or I call, matters not to me.
As I have watched my students over the years develop spiritually, even they find it hard to believe they can operate on their own accord: pray without help, ask for advice and get an answer, and find the right words to pray. But they do. They grow just like anyone student would who puts in the hours and the study.
However, just because a student becomes liberated from the need of a teacher, which is the ultimate purpose of teaching, this does not mean that we all don’t need a friend, partner, or a mentor to share our divine prayers.
Getting together to pray is special because “when two or more are gathered, there I AM,” the Bible says. I believe specifically that prayers are exponentially potent when more people gather to pray for the exact same thing without fear. This kind of prayer is a special kind of gift. Many people have seen miracles happen as a result.
The U.S. experienced this when 9-11 happened. The entire country stopped for days, grieved, and prayed. It was a spiritual power few of us have ever felt before. We could feel the world sending positive thoughts towards us. People were kinder to each other, more loving, and often completely different than they had been before.
This is an example of experiencing the power of Spirit. What anyone needs to do, however, after an expression of Spirit like this happens is to keep moving forward. If he or she wants to maintain the same kind of insight and a powerful spiritual feeling always, they must grow from every experience. Do we suddenly stop praying because we no longer feel the pain of the death of so many people at once? Do we stop looking for answers about why things happen and retreat for the asking? Or do we continue to go inward to seek what expresses itself outward?
Yes, yes, yes! The above paragraph holds the primary keys to spiritual growth.
Stay with me in the next few blogs. I’m going to expound much more about different areas of spiritual growth and spiritual gifts.

Last night I was driven crazy by the onslaught of loud bombing sounds. It was as if the country was under siege. July 4th. Independence Day. My dog slept in the bathtub, because that was the only place he felt safe. I am sensory defensive. I get it. I wanted to sleep right along side my frightened pup, with earplugs and perhaps with my head submerged under water so that I would be filled with the silence of the deep sea.
As this frenetic discourse blasts on around me into the late night, I wondered why, as a country, we celebrate our liberation from British rule by reactivating the very sounds that bombarded around us.
The bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that are flag was still there.
I get it! But I also don’t understand why reenacting these blasts of tyranny and revolt, year after year, cause the masses to feel celebratory. Is anyone really putting two pieces of the puzzle together. If all of those really enjoying setting off bombs in the air really do have a feeling of reminiscence or of patriotism. I would have to doubt this seriously. I think it today is a reason to release testosterone into the atmosphere in the form of noxious gases, period.
Patriotism is on a steady decline since the current political atmosphere has become a joke. None of those who are truly watching all of the news with open eyes and are concerned about what may happen next if the current administration goes on without restraint could care less about bombs bursting in the air. What we do care about, however, is peace—for our souls and most especially our minds.
I spend every morning trying to find this peace in the utter chaos of the world with meditation. When I see glimpses of it in my mind, I hold on to it for dear life—to the fragments of sanity that I know exist somewhere in the ether and are intended to move through me and then into the world.
But how in this current circumstance can this happen through me or you?
I think about the prime impediment of every single human being that wants and desires peace for the world and for themselves—FEAR! We are afraid that by ourselves—we will not be enough to make any kind of change. We are afraid that if we follow the leadings of the heart that we will be much too selfish and somehow not come out helping the faithful cause of liberation to those captive and in chains from prejudice and injustice. I say, “In the face of the injustices in the world, how can we not follow the treasure of passion in our hearts?”
I recently have begun to understand that as one human being, the best that I can do is to follow my passion to the fullest, no matter what kinds of fear try to block my path. Why?
I work toward my passion, because I understand that the seed of God’s greatest desire is the most deeply rooted seed in my heart. If this were true, then where I go and what I become in this world will greatly impact not only me, but the entire world—no matter if I’m a garbage collector or a great musician making a statement with album after album.
Today is the day that you look deep inside yourself and decide what action or movement will most crucially impact your life—then go for it! You must!
All of the world is waiting for you to be the biggest and best you that you can be! The are waiting for you to realize that you are made in the image and passion of Creator Good. When you and I embrace our power, then we can bring peace and joy back to this Earth.

“If the public were to reach a fearless state, then the international bankers and the policymakers who are running the show behind the corporations and media would no longer have the ability to control the people would no longer have the ability to dictate the flow of currency.
It is the very fact that people are paralyzed by their own fears that prevents them from doing anything productive; that prevents them from any real efforts to try to make adjustments in their lives in directions that will be most suitable for them. It is this fear that is the great limiter and there great binder; it is an anchor that locks you to the bottom of the ocean of possibility, forever to go around your loop; to go around the permitter of a circus cage.” (The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce: by Wynn Free and David Wilcock)
What struck me most about this amazing channeled passage from the Ra group was this sentence: “It is this very fact that people are paralyzed by their own fears that prevent from doing anything productive… it is an anchor that locks you to the bottom of the ocean of possibility.”
Is this not the truest statement you have read in a long time? It was for me. Fear has kept me locked from being the best I could ever be. It has kept me from opportunity after opportunity, year after year, moment after moment. It has kept me less than and poorer than I ever needed to be throughout my life.
Where does this fear come from? you might ask.
For me, I know it was a childhood of endless emotional needs and abandonment, which ultimately made me anxiously attached to everything from money to relationship. When you can’t see past your fear you end up creating a wall around your life, limiting the possibility of ever reaching past this cage around. It is this same fear that will keep you chained to your past and never let you go; unless you decide that fear can no longer rule your life.
My husband and I have been coming to the same conclusion at the same time. We pray daily—sometimes a few times a day—to be used on this Earth to create positivity in the world; for prosperity, for truth, for wisdom, for love, right relationship, and compassion for all living creatures. I believe that this continuing fellowship of our souls has led us to this truth about releasing fear. Fear has kept us bound for a long time, all of us. Fortunately, for Dave and me, we have found each other to help heal the wounds of the past.
Of course, I pray that you too find help. I know that recognizing fear before it begins to take root in your mind is the means to truly eradicate this cancer. When FEAR is completely cut out and radiated to oblivion, then and only then, will be all be able to rise up and begin to change our lives. In turn, of course, we can begin to help change the world to the positive unity that we want and deserve—a life where the lion will lay with the lamb, where compassion will not be scarce.
Trust in your soul today that you have been given the power to overcome this fear. If you need help, you know you can call me. I am trained in this kind of help. I can do this work from anywhere if you have a phone or a computer. The cost is minimal if you would want to change your life toward the positive. I know I’ve been called to help people like you, so if you don’t have the money, or can’t contribute to pay for a session, please let me know right away. The angels have asked me to help. I too am from the Ra group.
The normal cost for a session is $125 for an hour.
