Boldness: How Do You Become Bolder?

I have definitely noticed that I have a lot less fear since I have gotten older. A essential reason exist for this change. When you some becomes older and actually faces the past anxieties, you move through fear in a completely different way in the present.

For instance, with certainty in this moment I know that I am:

  1. Sharing in the One Universal Mind
  2. I am always blessed, because I am made in the image of Spirit God
  3. I am always surrounded by angels who aid me in my human and spiritual issues
  4. I always have the ability to co-create in this universe and change my current situations, or at least I can change how I view or perceive the current situation
  5. With this ability to co-create, I am able to change the course of actions in my life; and in certain situations change the conditional situation in my world.

With this deep knowing, I am able to coerce any negative thoughts in my mind to believe what my heart and my consciousness knows with certainty. When I do this, I can face any challenge in the world. This takes a certain understanding of what is called the Observer Mind.

We know that there is only One Mind. We are all a part of that mind. However there are many diverse individual brains out there with many diverse programs operating in those brains.

The brain is an individual organ in each human body that is either programmed with positivity or negativity or a mixture of both. For instance, if you were an abused child, you can be assured that the neural pathways directing your thoughts will be eschewed from someone who has not been abused. This is science, not spirituality. This is the reason people who have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress) feel as if they cannot change the organic process of their mind. The PTSD thought hits the frontal cortex of the brain before our reasoning mind has a chance to change the thought.

So, we must become a Scientist of our own Minds to make the shift. For this reason, we learn ways to access the voice inside that programs the thoughts during deep, healing meditations and in clinical hypnosis. We can and will change and assert new neural pathways, forging new and more positive thoughts in each human mind as we become more aware of our creative power.

You may have times in your life when you feel inadequate. Who doesn’t? In these moments you must access your truth. To simply speak any truth (usually in the form of affirmations) from the observer self to the physical self or the programmed mind seems like a challenge, especially if you have not experienced the observer mind.

I know this all sounds like a challenge, too technical, and maybe even like malarkey, but the process has been proven to work for millions in hypnosis where we often use the Observer Mind to speak to and communicate to the Physical Brain and the subconscious.

The brain is a part of your human self, a part of your human housing. You are a Spirit that is temporarily housed in a human shell. As a result of this knowledge you can change the trajectory of your life. I know this to be true, because I have done it and watched many others change horrible situations into power blessings by changing the neural triggers in the brain. (Notice I do not associate the brain with the Mind. They are two separate, but symbiotic, realities.)

I have been a hypnotherapist for 28 years. I have seen obese people become thin; smokers become adamant nonsmokers, people with sleep problems enjoy sleep, people who have had relationship problems learn to deal with the relationship with themselves and, in turn, fix the relationship issues in their lives, and the sick become healed. Anything is possible when you understand the basic truths of the universe!

Today, simply focus on one initial truth. Speak this to yourself out loud, if you can, and as you do so, pinch the space between your thumb and forefinger. This will cause a physical trigger to be connected to this thought:

There is only one mind and I am a part of that loving and creative energy.

This entire process is explained in my book: “Your New Story, Your New Life” The Metaphysical Mind.

Sticking to the Carb-Free Diet!

Every time I watch television, something airs that reminds me of a flavor from my childhood food—the junk, the pizza, the Italian pastas, the desserts, the potato chips—the salty and sweet rollercoaster that kept me and continues to taunt me into digestive hell. How do we resolve the past desires and get on with the healthiest #carbfreediet for our bodies (full stop)?

I’ve been thinking about this a great deal lately, as I know that everything I dream, everything I see during the day, even the smells in the air cause the neural pathways of my brain to trigger. Then, symptoms of the past come up—this includes hunger and a distinct desire for specific foods.

I know this from my study of psychology:

When you understand the trigger, and you begin to watch out for it, you can often talk yourself out of the problem issue.

If you happen to be at the movie theater. You smell popcorn and butter. You can tell yourself that what you smell is actually piped into the theater to make you desire to eat jacked up prices on popcorn that costs you $6 and costs the theater about .20 cents. The same with candy commercials before the movie and that amusement park 3-D ride that leads you to a cold, frosty soda. All of these are meant to trigger your hunger and taste for these foods.

I went to the movies to see a film I wasn’t all that into seeing last weekend, because my mother’s birthday was this week. She had to the see the show. What little it takes for me to just sit quietly in a nice theater with reclining chairs and fall asleep, if I want, to satisfy someone dear to me. It took nothing but the $10 to get it. However, about 3/4 into the movie, my sister handed me a container of popcorn smothered with that pseudo butter. After eating just one handful, my fingers were drenched with grease and my stomach was already getting queazy.

We were to go to dinner after the movie, so I didn’t think to bring a healthy snack. My bad. When the popcorn was passed my way, I ate it—all of it. This was a big mistake. not because it was all that many calories or that it was too unhealthy, but because I have to answer to one person when it comes to my own health. If I don’t listen to him, who can I trust to take care of me?

In other words, if you are not prepared to be the caregiver of your own body, to monitor what goes into your body at all times, then you are not ready to lose weight and get back into shape. If you have the kind of a laissez-faire attitude about staying healthy and keeping healthy, you’ll never keep the weight off.

Diet is a life change. It must be a soul commitment to yourself—the highest soul commitment you can make.

When I see people who have a lot of money continually eat expensive, rich food and pounds of meat daily, I wonder if they realize just how long their bodies will be able to take the abuse. All the money in the world is worth absolutely nothing if you have a heart attack and die from your obsessive need to eat food that is over seasoned with butters, creams, and simple carbs (sugar, flour, potatoes, white rice, and bread).

Read my next blog, and I’ll share with you some ideas about how to be prepared when the triggers come or give me a call for a plan to get you back in shape and on to a plan that will work for your life: 954-253-6493.

Preparing for the Cross—Part Three: Look at Your Past with Compassion

Researching your past is much like me writing my screenplay and doing the research to create a palatable character. What you are now is made of all the parts you were in the past. So, you must ask yourself questions like:

  • What are your social, political, and religious views?
  • Did you development them yourself, or were they placed upon you?
  • Was there some trauma in your past that has changed the way you view the rest of your life?
  • And my favorite question: What part of your human anatomy, fondly resembles your aging relatives? “Is it your belly that looks just like your daddy’s? Or is it your thighs that look just like grandmother?

To make effective change you must discover what part of your thinking is actually yours and what was simply fed to you or done to you. In doing so, you have to sift out what no longer serves your life and replace those ways of thinking with ways that do serve you.
Life is like a threshing floor.

Read the following statement aloud: “I release and let go of all things that no longer serve my life. I am open and willing for change!”
After doing so, check out your body. Were you barely moving your lips? Were your legs crossed, arms crossed, or your lips so tight they are turning white? Clearly, everything you have ever let go of had claw marks in it, right?

Change takes openness. That’s for sure. And commitment. And true authenticity about everything that has happened to you in your past.”

Making a Strong Commitment to Change

Let’s try repeating this bold statement again. Aloud. This time with meaning. With your palms and arms open:
“I release and let go of all things that no longer serve my life. I am open and willing for change.”

Let’s look at some of the questions you can ask yourself concerning your past history:

  1. How did your family life affect you? This is a huge question. But, to undo unproductive thinking, you often have to rediscover your family life patterns, and see how you’re reliving them NOW. No one likes to hear you are acting like your mother or father. But the truth is, sometimes we do. I know I can be a very controlling, just as my dad was, if I don’t watch myself with an authentic and compassionate eye.
  2. What traits are you holding of your parents that you want to let go of today?

To make it easier, Let’s focus on just one trait and make a commitment for change in just this one area for now. There is no better time than now to make this change.

Everyday I hear stories from clients that change me, make me look deeper into my own soul for understanding. When I find myself drifting off into my own head and thoughts, while a client is sharing his or her story, I force myself back into the present moment and listen harder. Why? Because I know that what he or she is saying is probably something I may be avoiding in my own self.

We are all like mirrors to each other. When I look at you or am bothered by you, it’s really you holding up a mirror to a part of me that I am not wanting to look at. And I need to look at that part to become a better person.

I’ve come to believe that if you don’t question your thoughts, you are probably suffering from some mental disorder, most specifically narcissism. This practice of self-exploration didn’t happen over night. In fact, it has taken me many years to realize that all that I have in this world is right here in this moment. I can choose to waste the moment, keep reliving it over and over with the same unproductive thoughts and unproductive actions, or be open and free to experience the next moment of precious life.
