Doing What You Love! #careeradvice #spiritualadvice #personalpower #newthought

We’ve all heard the statement, “Do what you love, and the money will follow!” How true is this quote? How many of you have actually tried to do what you love and came up short?
Most polls say that from 75-80% of people hate their jobs and are disengaged from what they do for a living, which is why 2 million Americans quit their jobs every MONTH. That’s a staggering number. Over 22 Million people get layed off or fired in a year. I couldn’t find a number that included just being fired, which would probably be as a result of poor performance, because of—again—lack of interest.
I know many people in my life who literally love what they do every day of their lives. Most of these people are affluent and have steadily built their kingdoms from making good decisions and working hard. Ultimately, they achieve what they want because of their steadiness and lack of concern that they will fail.
Many of my unhappy clients say they feel guilty about doing what they love for a smaller amount of money. They are embarrassed about having to get a smaller place to live and a used car, at first, to finance their new idea. Also, many people have families they must support, so the guilt becomes a race to make money doing what they love in a very short amount of time, which usually leads to disaster. These same people even give themselves a specific amount of time for their life’s dream to acquire the wealth they need to support their lives.
Who can tell a plant how fast it should grow and for how long before it bears fruit? We can estimate these facts, but, ultimately, nature must take its course. There is no amount of ranting, worrying, raving, or striving to get a plant to grow in due time. I would say, this is also true for your business and life’s dream. You must do the following to get your dream going:
- Have a clear vision of your dream;
- Plant the seed for your dream;
- Begin creating a blue print for your plan;
- Ultimately, begin implementing your plan.
For an example you have decided that you would like to be a veterinarian. You have always loved animals, so much so, that you have decided to devote your life to them. At this point, though, you are an accountant at a large business, building Excel sheets about your company’s waste.
Don’t quit your old job anytime soon. Your objective is to build your dream to coincide with a plan to eliminate that job, which no longer serves you. If your current job is putting food on your family’s table and sending your child to college, you must continue what supports you until your other job begins to pay off.
If you wanted to change your life in a way that required a degree, you would have to begin college courses. Night courses or online courses would be your only choice. You would need energy enough to be able to handle the weight of two jobs. All of this must be a part of your plan of success. If you take too many courses, you may not have the energy to do well enough to succeed. Think your plan through with utmost clarity. A good builder always has a well-throughout blueprint or plan.
Next, in your plan you must take into consideration that there will be obstacles and hurdles to manage. So, your vision has to be stronger than the obstacles, otherwise, you will fold your hands and quit before you begin.
In my life, I started writing books when I was 28 years old. It has taken me until now to understand the process of success. I never stopped writing, marketing, or publishing during the time I learned what I know now. Even though I believe my next book will be successful, I can feel it in my bones, he truth is: “If not this book, the next one.” I won’t stop writing.
I love what I do, every day! That has to be your feeling about what you try to accomplish, otherwise, you may as well stop now. The learning, the successes, and the failures, of trying for your dream are what make you wonderful in the end. So, your dream can’t be about an end result. Your dream can only be about being happy with what you are doing, when you do it.
