Peace is Contingent upon No Attachments!

This blog is about having no attachment to the outcome of anything in your life. What does releasing your physical and mental world to the powers of the Universe do for the soul?

IT FREES THE SOUL TO BE AT PEACE!

How important is peace to your body and soul? Every day we have one huge choice: Be the light that we are meant to be!

If you can do that, you can live a life in perfect peace. Your soul (or sole) responsibility to the world is simply being a conduit to the love, compassion, and joy of God expressing! If you can be that, cut through the shit of expectation, disappointment, and anxiety; then, you will be able to put your soul to rest at night with nothing but your best, each day!

MY LIFE EXAMPLE

I have had an amazing few days, the kind of days you only imagine of in dreams. One of the smaller events that happened to me was that I was selected for a major role in a commercial by a well-known casting director and producer. This is what’s known as being on “First Refusal.” In other words, the director loves you, the casting director thinks your perfect for the role, and those two people are going to try to convince the client (the person paying for the project) to pick you as their first choice. Nine times out of ten, you can count on a first refusal turning into a job. At least, in my life that has been the case. However, I have been on hold (which means you are second or third choice) and have gotten the job, so that means that the opposite can happen.

Long story short, after an amazing week, the first refusal turned into a definite refusal from the client. When I got the message from my agent, I wasn’t a bit distressed, though. Why?

Actually, to do the job, I was going to have to cut off two glorious days of my honeymoon, which my amazing husband agreed to do (bless his heart) because he realized it was a great opportunity both financially and professionally.

Life is consistently about choices. We follow our hearts and our dreams and sometimes neglect the deepest choice, our moral choice to move in the path of peace. I’m not saying the choice to do this commercial was against any moral part of me, but it did disrupt my peace. I made a choice when I went to the audition (knowing the shoot date) that I was available for the shoot job. However, when I got the callback, the shoot day changed to right—smack dab—in the middle of my honeymoon. In that moment of time, I made the snap decision to honor my career over my relationship, which wasn’t the peaceful choice. When I hung up the phone with my agent, I knew it.

To appease my soul, though, I thought, what are the chances that I’ll get this commercial out of a hundred men?

I remember the moment distinctly I had to make that choice. It was a mere second in time. I hope to remember the moment every day so that I will not make that kind of a snap decision again. I’m thankful for Spirit for placing me on the right path, even though I was disobedient to my own soul. This is why I felt peace when I heard the news from the agent.

Make this commitment with me today:

My only choice today is to shine the light of love, peace, compassion and joy through me and be “on-call” for life. I can choose to take opportunities, but wherever this earthly path takes me is up to God. There is a divine plan, which I’m not privy to. However, I know that Infinite Mind has it all worked out. It is not my responsibility to run the universe. I HAVE NO ATTACHMENT TO THE FUTURE.

Paul Walker and Fast Cars – #paulwalker

Millions of people have grieved the loss of one of America’s famous actors who recently lost his life in a fast car headed toward a devastating wreck. Flowers and signs line the area where the accident occurred. Clearly, this man was loved for his persona in the Fast and Furious movies. My favorite was his character in “She’s All That.”

When a famous person dies unexpectedly, such as Princess Diane, I’m amazed how, even though 99.9% of the people have never even met the star, they grieve as if they were his/her best friend. How is this so? How can we become close enough to a two-dimensional character to feel the pain and anguish of loss in our own fragile hearts?

Some of what we experience is simply the surprise of the accident gives way to an outlet from our own deeply-seated grief that has been stuck in our subconscious for awhile. The grief could be about anyone or anything in our own life that feels stuck, not necessarily for the star. We are unable to express our true emotions about what really has happened in our lives, so our emotions for the star express more easily the grief we feel for something much deeper.

I believe that, for most of us who have never experienced really deep love, we accept the premise of two-dimensional love as reality. Once I had entered into a two-dimensional relationship with a man online that appeared to be in the armed service, stationed in Europe. He told me that his home was in Atlanta, and that he would be there to stay in three month. He said looked for a healthy, secure relationship. The man’s pictures were beautiful. I couldn’t believe that this man hadn’t been attached already. He was that handsome. The fact that he was even talking to me online must have been a testament to how wonderful and handsome I was. Right?

As I continued to get my daily messages from him, I didn’t question that his English was a little inconsistent. Nor did I wonder why some of his stories about the war zone he purported to exist in didn’t add up with any of the news on television or online. By the time I began to suspect he wasn’t a real person from the armed forces, I had already convinced myself this guy actually had developed deep feelings for me. Can you believe that the man who wrote a book on relationship actually got caught in this kind of trap?

Well, it’s true. I’m admitting it because I want to help people recognize the difference between a two-dimensional relationship and a three-dimensional one. Online chatters often can portray parts of themselves that are pure fantasy. They can find pictures they wish they were and post them. Not all people seeking mates online are like this. My guess is that the vast majority is not trying to lure you into sending money to them because their combat company experienced an counterattack and was left without any food or clean clothes. “Please send money to Nigeria, where my commander will be!” sure sounds like a man who wants me for my mind, not my pocketbook.

Once I realized that this person was a fraud, I tried to contact people in the FBI, people on the website, the news, but no one really cared about my story. I guess this happens to a great many people. I wonder how many are foolish enough to actually send a money order to Nigeria. That much I did not do. To my surprise, though, the fraud complained that I was not compassionate and didn’t trust him. As I was trying to bate him, I answered few emails after that, just incase someone wanted to investigate who was using a picture of a US serviceman.

Fast cars and surprising deaths don’t have to be something you just heard on the news about an actor or actress. They can be a death of love that you conjured in your mind. Because of loneliness and despair, you let yourself be fooled by a two-dimensional online presence masquerading as real.

New Challenge: Go to Week 6 of the “Year to CLEAR Challenge”

______________________________________________

Look for MY LATEST BOOK: “Finding Authentic You, 7 Steps to Effective Change” with a Year to CLEAR (C-larity, L-ove, E-nthusiasm A-nd R-elationship-Ready) on my Website in the Webstore. Thanks!

Below is information that I will be sharing for about a month, as not every person on my list reads the blog every day. If you have already read it, just skip over it. Thanks for understanding.

A Year to CLEAR Challenge:
(Please Know: You Can Join Us At Any Point in the Year Challenge.)

The masses search outward for things that qualify them as a person, but I always go inward for that which quantifies me for greatness. At twenty-five I preached on street corners in NYC as an in-the-closet Pentecostal minister. One day I heard a still small voice say, ‘God cannot be contained in a book or a law or even in a religion. Dig deeper, reach further to find me, and you will find your authentic Self.’”

A Year to CLEAR Challenge!

The acronym CLEAR stands for (Compassionate, Loving, Enthusiastic, And Relationship-Ready). The goal of this project is to engulf readers in a weekly study that will transform them by removing blocks, promote self-growth, and give them wings to fly freely into daily life. Each week, by going to BoSebastian.com and choosing the Year to CLEAR Challenge tab, a new challenge or thought to provoke conversation, growth, and group functionality.

My vision is to make Finding Authentic You the book to have in your Kindle or on your computer. The book is a comprehensive look at growth—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

As a yoga teacher and student of the Ayurvedic tradition, I bring to the table understanding of physical challenges, the ability to overcome mental problems with Life & Health Coaching, as well as hypnotherapy, and expertise in meditation and spirituality as a minister.

The combination of all three in one book with an interactive connection to like-minded readers, for one year, is what makes this Year to CLEAR Challenge a must-do for every spiritual seeker.

The One-Year Approach to Change

No one believes he or she can change overnight. But success in change comes from the metaphors of nature. Seasonally, life changes all around us in nature. Finding Authentic You offers a gradual change perspective, looking at the triune aspects of change as in yoga: Body, Mind and Spirit.

Accessing the ability to change and finding yourself actually pursuing change must be a daily search, which I call getting to the “observer mind.”

In this frontal cortex of the brain we find the anatomy of change and the power to counter every negative trigger of the human process. The workings of Hypnosis, NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) are all positive actions to help the mind and body flow to a positive space for change.

Every aspect of FINDING AUTHENTIC YOU fulfills this constant need for diffusing the negative past and dreaming of a fulfilling future.

Step 1: Recognize That Change is Inevitable
Step 2: Release from Resistance to Change
Step 3: Understanding Change and Allow Spirit to Define It
Step 4: A History Lesson—About You
Step 5: Look at Your Past with Compassion
Step 6: Making a Strong Commitment to Change
Step 7: Dream Your Fabulous Future
