I’d Rather Forgo That Heaven! #heaven #judgment #recipricaljudgment

For as long as I can remember, I have been told that bad people go to hell. This Christian promise was a perfect way for my parents to manipulate me to be good. I had images of heaven that were beautifully wrought with rainbow colors and angels playing harps. Who could forget the promise of roads made of gold, white majestic robes for the righteous, and beautiful mansions in the sky for those who made it through this human life without turning from God and omitting sin?

On the contrary, hell carried the unrighteous monsters—the angels that had been cast down from heaven for disobeying God. They burned in eternal fires like devils with red pokers along with the unrighteous humans who forsook God. With all that imagery thrust upon us as children, it’s no wonder each of us found it impossible to be good enough for heaven, then, and even now.

What if we simply decide to resist all this made-up bullshit about heaven and hell? What if we simply said: “I would rather forgo that kind of heaven, if the God there is that full of unrighteous judgment”?

In Mark 15:16, the scriptures ask the followers of Christ to lead people to Christianity by spreading the promise of heaven. In the years that I have been witness to spreading the word, the activity has been more like spreading a deadly virus that keeps only those who believe EXACTLY as the zealots or you die and burn! Listen, God had nothing to do with zealous people spreading their own versions of the truth. We must get that straight in our minds, before we make up our minds about Spirituality.

I’m beginning to believe that God has no anthropomorphic qualities at all, anyway. God, to me, is the tiniest particle in physics and the ever-expanding universe in the sky, the ocean that houses and feeds the millions of aquatic critters, and the same ocean that causes a tsunami. God is Spirit and God is all that is created, sustained, and fading with time.

If we are to believe that God is all in all, then it is not enough to believe that Spirit God is simply love! God is the creative force, the sustaining force, and also the destroying force of the universe. Every metaphor in the physical world leads us to believe that there is a beginning, middle, and end to everything human and physical. So, why is it that we only attribute the good to God and have provided a scapegoat—Satan—to have all the bad attributes of the world?

As believers of the expanding spiritual truths of New Thought Religion, we must embrace all of God and be okay with every aspect of the world. Being at peace with and desiring change can go hand in hand. With this we will truly begin to embrace our own juxtaposing human qualities. As a result become stronger, less self-deprecating, and learn to embrace all of the aspects of our creative, sustaining and destructive behaviors.

  • Remember, we need the destroyer for the power to get rid of negative thoughts, attributes in our lives that no longer serve us, and bad habits that cause our bodies to be depleted of nutrition and health.
  • We need our creative source to plant the seeds of dreams in the subjective field of consciousness; and
  • We need the sustaining force of God to maintain the good that we have harvested in the autumnal seasons of our lives.

Without all of these attributes, we are only 2-dimensional humans destined to fall behind in our spiritual growth, get poor, and seek to be led by mind control and religions that teach us what to do and how to do it like blind sheep.

By accepting that God is actually Spirit or Energy that is all in all, we step into adulthood as a child of God and the universe. Now, we can begin to be creators with God, as is our birthright!

#Possessions: You Can’t Take Them with You

As I lay on the couch, my puppy perched above me on a pillow, a blanket nestled around me, the wind lashed at the trees outside. Without reason a wind tunnel swept under my carport and blew the roof right off. In one second, much of my roof was destroyed, my car had shingles and drainpipes on it, and everything in my storage shed got drenched from the torrential rain. In 5 second, everything in the front of my house was gone.

Ten years before that, I sat in my front room playing the piano. Again the wind lashed out at my windows. I could feel the pressure almost break them. I opened the curtain to see outside. Porch chairs, trees, and plants swirled in funnels swiftly down the street. I rushed to the bathtub. In about a minute, all became silent. As I walked outside, everything from my side of the street had mangled the opposite side of the street. Roofs were blown off, houses damaged, trees uprooted, and devastation lay waste all around. I just a minute.

Children have a tendency to take possession of all the gifts you give them. At some ages they simply won’t share. “Mine!” they say.

Adults tend to want to help them understand that the toy is for sharing, even though it may have been given to you. But, it is from the deepest part of the ego that the soul longs to take possession of objects.

When you buy a brand new car, your biggest fear becomes the first ding or dent. You park it in remote places to protect your new ego pride. Yet, you go to your doctor’s appointment and park on the street. While the doctor treats you a hailstorm passes through. You come back to your brand new car with it now looking like it has a bad case of the mumps. Nothing keeps us from maintaining the personal possession law. Spirit will always show us that what appears to be ours on this earth, we truly borrow from God.

If this remains true, then why do we hold so tightly to the possessions we work hard for and the accolades and honors we achieve? I remember a time, when I first began in the performing arts, how much I enjoyed getting applause and standing ovations. The ego thrives in this environment, which is often why artists can become egotistical. But it doesn’t take long for anyone to know that possessions are just things. They hold no spiritual value, only worldly value, and simply can’t buy you peace. If you want peace, you have to let go of the value you put on your ego life and take complete possession of your spiritual life and goals.

23And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24“Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?”…

New Challenge: Go to Week 6 of the “Year to CLEAR Challenge” at www.Bosebastian.com

______________________________________________

Look for MY LATEST BOOK: “Finding Authentic You, 7 Steps to Effective Change” with a Year to CLEAR (C-larity, L-ove, E-nthusiasm A-nd R-elationship-Ready) on my Website in the Webstore. Thanks!

Below is information that I will be sharing for about a month, as not every person on my list reads the blog every day. If you have already read it, just skip over it. Thanks for understanding.

A Year to CLEAR Challenge:
(Please Know: You Can Join Us At Any Point in the Year Challenge.)

The masses search outward for things that qualify them as a person, but I always go inward for that which quantifies me for greatness. At twenty-five I preached on street corners in NYC as an in-the-closet Pentecostal minister. One day I heard a still small voice say, ‘God cannot be contained in a book or a law or even in a religion. Dig deeper, reach further to find me, and you will find your authentic Self.’”

A Year to CLEAR Challenge!

The acronym CLEAR stands for (Compassionate, Loving, Enthusiastic, And Relationship-Ready). The goal of this project is to engulf readers in a weekly study that will transform them by removing blocks, promote self-growth, and give them wings to fly freely into daily life. Each week, by going to BoSebastian.com and choosing the Year to CLEAR Challenge tab, a new challenge or thought to provoke conversation, growth, and group functionality.

My vision is to make Finding Authentic You the book to have in your Kindle or on your computer. The book is a comprehensive look at growth—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

As a yoga teacher and student of the Ayurvedic tradition, I bring to the table understanding of physical challenges, the ability to overcome mental problems with Life & Health Coaching, as well as hypnotherapy, and expertise in meditation and spirituality as a minister.

The combination of all three in one book with an interactive connection to like-minded readers, for one year, is what makes this Year to CLEAR Challenge a must-do for every spiritual seeker.

The One-Year Approach to Change

No one believes he or she can change overnight. But success in change comes from the metaphors of nature. Seasonally, life changes all around us in nature. Finding Authentic You offers a gradual change perspective, looking at the triune aspects of change as in yoga: Body, Mind and Spirit.

Accessing the ability to change and finding yourself actually pursuing change must be a daily search, which I call getting to the “observer mind.”

In this frontal cortex of the brain we find the anatomy of change and the power to counter every negative trigger of the human process. The workings of Hypnosis, NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) are all positive actions to help the mind and body flow to a positive space for change.

Every aspect of FINDING AUTHENTIC YOU fulfills this constant need for diffusing the negative past and dreaming of a fulfilling future.

Step 1: Recognize That Change is Inevitable
Step 2: Release from Resistance to Change
Step 3: Understanding Change and Allow Spirit to Define It
Step 4: A History Lesson—About You
Step 5: Look at Your Past with Compassion
Step 6: Making a Strong Commitment to Change
Step 7: Dream Your Fabulous Future

Does the Soul Expand After Death?

A few nights after my father died, I had a vivid dream about meeting him in heaven. He appeared young and handsome. In fact, the first thing I asked him in the dream was, “Why do you look so young?”

He responded, “When we come out of the human body, we are like small particles released into the atmosphere that have the capacity to reshape into whatever we desire. I wanted to appear to you as a young father.”

I asked him to explain more.

At that time there was a commercial on television about the medicine Contact, an allergy relief that was a capsule made with many small colored balls of medicine within. He showed me an imagine of the capsule in the dream. Then he opened the capsule. All the little many colored balls were suspended in space. He said that each particle, a part of the whole, had the capacity to move and reshape in the atmosphere.

He also told me that there was a larger part of himself outside his earthly shell waiting to meet him and reunite with the whole at his death. He was now in that complete body. Then his molecules dispersed and he reshaped into my grandfather, then back into his older self-image before he died. Then, he reappeared as the young father again.

I have to share that before my father died, he and I had made amends. We were never close during the course of our lives. He wanted me to be a football player and a jock, like my cousins and his friends’ and siblings’ sons. I chose to be my authentic self, despite him pushing me further and further away from his life. If it weren’t for my baby sister, we would have never even spoken much. Then we had a once a month call, which was more about the weather and Italian food than life. My sister, Lori, helped my father realize that I needed him to accept me for who I was. At the end, he actually did. I’m blessed to have had that closure.

I tell you all this because in this dream he explained that part of his course in the spiritual world would be to help me on the ether plane. He was a different person, cleansed of his earthly behavior when we spoke. It was as if he understood the negative role he had played in my life, and now wanted to aid me in my spiritual walk toward enlightenment and wisdom.

I’ll never forget that night. When he left my dream, he jettisoned into space and became as large as a constellation. He frequently visits me in the night during my dreams with information that helps me move forward.
