LIFE IS GOOD. AND I AM GOOD IN IT! #spiritualadvice #DivineMind #ScienceofMind #SOM #SpiritualLiving

“Life is good” is a simple statement, but a little more difficult to digest than one would hope. Life may not appear to be good to you, right now, or ever. But, life was created to be good, peaceful, harmonious, and prosperous. You do not have to look too far to see beauty in almost everything you see in nature. So, why then do we have so much trouble verbalizing these three words? I sometimes feel as if I have to choke them out of myself in the morning—before my meditation.

Some therapists would say that we must admit our problems and feel them deeply. Feel it! Grieve in it! Punch a pillow! Yadda yadda yadda. You know what? I have done plenty of grieving for any one lifetime. I have decided to drop out of the “School of Grief” and pay full-tuition to join the College of “LIFE IS GOOD!”

Recently, I realized that my morning prayer sounded as if I was pleading with the Universe to please give me what I needed! It was a big AHA moment for me to look around me and see birds fed, ducks swimming effortlessly, trees flourishing. Were they asking for anything from the universe?

In that moment, I had a flashback of when I was a child. What came up for me was this: When I was 12 years old, and my mother had been gone from the home for about three years, there were still five other siblings left at home. When we would run out of groceries, one of us children would have to ask my father for money.

My father never offered to give us money to go grocery shopping. Generally, I was the one responsible for this, even though I was second to the youngest. When I asked him, he would dig into his pocket, groan, and then throw the money on the floor for me to pick up, like a friggin’ dog! That was my first conception of asking from a parent for what I need. No wonder I feel like I have to beg the universe.

As soon as I realized that I was treating Unlimited Source like it was my angry and frugal father, I actually felt as if my body began to release this tired, old way of thinking and asking. I know it is a gradual movement for me toward letting go completely, but I have been doing my work in the school of “Life is Good,” so I believe I’m taking a new course with a brand new understanding of life.

Perhaps, you, too, have had an experience in your past that has caused you to believe that there isn’t enough for you, or there will not be enough for you in the future. It would be a great idea to uncover that old way of thinking, so that you can move on from it to your prosperity and your good life.

Join this College of “Life is Good with me.” Say to the universe, “What I see in the world is not tragedy on the news, but beautiful, harmonious, and loving nature all around me. I want to join in THIS ENERGY.

Then, resign from your old way of thinking—the old thoughts, the old school, and the old memories. Those old thoughts have taught you enough about negativity. Let’s get in a school of pure positivity now!

Prosperity

I had the most amazing meditation this morning. I have been asking, before I enter into this blissful state, for something specific. Today, I asked the question before my meditation began, “Spirit, teach me something I don’t know about the universe and living as a human being!”

Below, is the response I got from my meditation:

The presiding theme was that I cannot take from God what God rightfully and delightfully wants to give me. A scripture from Proverbs came to mind: (paraphrased) If a man is caught stealing, he shall have to repay seven fold that which he took.

For so many years, I thought that everyone and everything from life was stealing from me, which is the story of lack and poverty. This certainly isn’t a story of God’s son who has inherited the wealth of Universal Abundance. I would profess this scripture in hopes that 7 fold would return to me. (Just 7-fold would be enough… nothing more.) But, what my meditation said was that “no one can steal what is already theirs.” If you are one with all Abundance, then everything is yours. Reciprocally, everything is also everyone else’s, too. We all are beneficiaries of God’s divine abundance.

But, humans have been like children fighting over the possessions of a rich parent. Instead of sharing gratefully, we want to procure that which is only ours and hold on to it with the control of a narcissist.

The meditation went on to reveal more about the subject of prosperity. This last Sunday, as I held my offering in my hand, I heard a voice say to me, “Put it back in your pocket!” I asked why.

The voice answer, “You still have resentment in your heart about giving.” So, I took the cash and stuffed it back in my pocket as the basket passed me. I’m sure the people around me thought I was being selfish, but I didn’t care. Spirit’s lesson was more important to me, than what others thought about me.

So, the meditation brought that important moment to mind. The same voice asked, “So, if all of the money in the world is rightfully yours and all the of the money in the world is rightfully the church’s, why are you so afraid to let go? More importantly, if you proclaim to be the hand of God here on this earth, how can I use you, if you won’t let go of the gifts I have given you?”

Of course, my thought was that I still have fear about not having enough. (As my old story, as a child, was that I was a very poor young boy, barely having enough to eat, most weeks and never having enough to buy nice clothes.)

But in that moment, something changed in my heart. I realized that I don’t tithe because it’s a law. As a spiritual child of the universe tithes to demonstrate to ourselves and to the universe that we understand spiritual law and are not afraid of our abundance being limited by sharing a portion of our perceived riches.

I finally got it. I received the message that will, I’m sure, release my mind totally from my old story of poverty. I will give more freely than I have ever given before now.

If I want to share in the abundance of the universe, I need to show Spirit, and more importantly, I need to show myself, I have no fear of being poor, ever again. I do this by freely giving of the abundance of God, as I am the hand of God here on earth.

With so much peace, I share my absolute joy and freedom with you today.

Knocked Up Way too Young

For Thanksgiving, I went to a small town in Kentucky and discovered a community that had taken a large farmland and covered it with white trailers that looked almost exactly alike, except for the different plastic flowers on each front stoop. In each of these trailers was a different version of stuck-at-the-bottom-of-American-economy family—much like me when I grew up. But in this neighborhood, I noticed that mostly it was because that a great portion of the children began having their own families at a very young age and never took time to go to college, study, or go much farther than their own front yards.

The people were genuine and nice. They cooked a mean deep-fried turkey. But one thing I noticed immediately is that they had not much worldly influence. Their religious influence was usually small-town preacher’s hell and damnation. Their financial skills ranged from small-time business owners to manual labor to living off of the government from disability to welfare.

In my teens, after my mother left my father, I grew up living in an apartment complex much like where I visited in Kentucky. My family was one of maybe ten white families. The rest were African American and the others of many different cultures, mostly immigrants with little money and equally small education on everything from English to cleanliness. We lived on 20-30 dollars every two weeks for groceries.

Interestingly, I never really felt threatened by the housing project. If you lived there, you were kind of protected because you were a part of the challenged ones. We all had our plastic lounge chairs in the backyard, sun bathing in the summers. We all gathered around when a shooting would happen at an apartment, or a robbery occurred. It was part of the culture. You struggled from paycheck to paycheck, and you helped each other, even if it was by cradling two children while you smoked your last cigarette.

So, when I moved to the rough midtown in New York, it wasn’t much of a stretch to live in a place where on every street corner there were drug dealers and pimps. I became their friends, and we all took care of each other.

I often juxtapose my life then with my life now, which is very cushy. People from that kind of life style probably snub their noses at me now, as I did at them when I was living in poverty. Because of this, it was hard for me to accept abundance in my life. I often felt I didn’t deserve it. When I had big financial opportunities come, I often would sabotage them, simply because I felt as if money might destroy my connection to innocence.

The truth about money is that it does nothing but what you let it do. Money can make you be philanthropic and compassionate. Or money can sweet talk you into a lair of drugs and lust. Money is not the problem with riches. The brain is the problem.

If you feel as if you are worthy of good and abundance, the unlimited God who created you in It’s image will see to it that you are set on to pathway of gold. Your mind will change. You will begin to see your wealth and good fortune as a stepping-stone for others to join you in your right thinking.

Here is a Meditation: I am made in the image of God. God is unlimited in source and abundance. Anyway I look at it, I have the DNA to function as a child of the king if I so choose. Today, I choose to be in the royal family, to live abundantly in heart and mind, and to claim my right as a child of God and all that belongs to me. And so it is!
